Spent over thirty minutes listening to what I thought would be an enlightening discussion with creative entrepreneurs. All I can say is that was thirty minutes spent hearing (not learning) about their achievements which I think is great, but it needs to be coupled with some depth.
Been there too many times! Honestly it's like no one wants to share some knowledge or give helpful tips to those trying to embark into the unknown. It begins to feel like you are being punished for wanting to gain knowledge.
You really do, plus it's disappointing because we are being told to be more inclusive and open yet we keep the doors shut and only opened for those who either have the right amount of "followers" to follow after them or maybe already know the ins and outs.
Too true. It's really disappointing that at this moment knowledge isn't being praised as much as it should be. Having no knowledge on the industry you want to be successful in. Is like a book with a great cover and synopsis but full of blank pages. #wizword

I feel as though those who know more archive more at a faster pace. I've been thinking about the Chapter Two series we did on "Time", and the simple fact that one must value their time and invest their time into gaining knowledge.
That is why I honestly feel like the power of knowledge needs to be more discussed. Ignorance is becoming more prevalent, especially in the creative industries. Everyone just seems to be rushing for the next big hit.

So true! I think about our own experiences and the fact is that if we didn't invest our time wisely into studying, reading and listening we would have completely missed so many opportunities.
Knowledge of what is to come is better then just catching what has come. But you won't know what is to come if you don't invest the time into reading more and staying updated on what is happening in the world around you!

Compromising either with finances, preferences or time. These are just the most common compromises that in every day life one truly can't avoid, or maybe you can...care to share some tips? But I think it's safe to say it never truly ends, just simply changes!

We at The Applous are leaning more towards...no! From beginning a new venture to the up keep of the venture, compromise quickly becomes your slogan.
All in all compromising really isn't too bad. It mostly depends on your perspective of the current scenario. As we have said before and will say again "The sacrifices you make in your present, will be thanked by your future." #wizword
It's always comforting and encouraging to see and know that your sacrifices and compromises are actually beneficial to your life. Well hopefully, cause lets be real sometimes they can just end up being lessons learned...on what not to do!

Hey discovery!
Can you just tell me what I can actually do? And where to begin? I recently read this interview on this up and coming fashion designer who said he just googled and scouted youtube to answer these questions. Which got me thinking...is that good? Could that cause one to begin to unintentionally mimic others instead of creating their own path?
But I just gotta kick those doubtful thoughts back to the doubters. Cause it ain't about how you start but how you finish!
I guess this means discovery is a way of life...right? For us here at The Applous we are still discovering where we fit in, is this website benefiting someones life or simply just making their day a lil bit more interesting? We just keep on keeping on cause quitting ain't getting you any closer to the finish line.
Just the downside is that it can also make one feel rather hopeless, if you don't exactly get the kick start all these other successors have (if you're anything like me this is pretty much your biggest demon).

The good side though, is that there's information available! That's the bonus of this era. Information is easily accessible. Giving us all opportunities to discover multiple careers and learn about multiple people in those spheres.
