Feeling like your clock has stalled or even stopped? Whiles everyone around you seems to be going at full speed with a dash of accelerant!! Well if you are anything like us here at The Applous we definitely have those moments of "DAMN is that really the date...what have I been doing?!?!"If you have never experienced this then please care to share how you have managed to escape this, cause we are in need of some tips and tricks! But for all of you out there who are shouting "yes, I can relate", let's dive into a mini discussion that will hopefully help one feel more at peace and less alone.
Being aware of the clock and trying ones hardest to not let time slip by without making the most of every moment is most definitely important and a vital part of getting the most out of life. But making the clock your main focus can lead to panic and not a very enjoyable process. Yes, it is important that one doesn't neglect time and its relevance, but it's also important that we don't let it rule our every step and decision.
Taking the necessary time to just examine what is ones motivation in life and realising that the clock is necessary at times but it isn't the decider of your life. Aim to use time as a reminder not a discerner.
Part #2
Being consistent and being patient with
yourself is key to not being clock lead. Knowing that with time and consistency it becomes almost second nature to simply switch off that clock (and its pressures), to simply tuning into your now and your present. Being okay with your now and knowing that your journey will not be like anyone else's.
We at The Applous are the first to admit it ain't easy to block out the clock, and instead choose to focus on your present. Especially in the first steps, because it is almost like you have to retrain your mind and habits. It is almost habitually for some opus to be time watchers (a.k.a worriers)...am I right or am I right!
Beware → those jolts, reminders and freak out moments will occur. One must commit to staying at peace in the knowing that you are your own self, unlike any other and that your clock is going at the right speed for you!!!
Sometimes the urge and want to go back in time can be a hinderance to you pressing in life. It's almost impossible to make any progress in live when one is focus on past mistakes and regrets, especially when it comes to that feeling of "wasted time", when in actually fact the only time that could possibly be considered as "wasted" would be the time spent focus on your regrets! #dontdothat
Forget going back in time and instead focus on enjoying your time!
Part #1
Today I just had to honestly STOP...and simply observe where I am and where is it that I am heading. And that's not in the literal sense but more in the life sense. Just realizing that I am beginning to run on empty and lets be real that ain't good for anybody! And all this just to look as though I am keeping up with everybody else around me whiles silently suffering!
That's it, you know when you are just burnt out and that is exactly when you need to stop and recalibrate. And NO it's not selfish but actually necessary for you to progress in your life with clarity. Cause being burnt out ain't cute and it sure ain't good for ones own healthy.
Speak that truth!! It really isn't a selfish thing for you to do, and I feel that's what plagues us most when we take time to just stop and be still. It's that feeling of "oh I am not as busy as other people so that must make me seem lazy or boring", when in actual fact that is the furthest thing from both those things. It's actually one of the wisest things one can do for oneself.
Exactly, and it's also good for those around you. They will benefit from you being in a more clear state of mind. It brings peace into your life and mind when you have a clear mind and aren't feeling over bombarded with multiple pressures and stresses. Go at your own pace and stay in your own race! #wizword

Part #3
As discussed in the audio session, the importance of dropping somethings and prioritising on what is enough for you!! The same goes with being okay with going at your OWN pace!!! Resisting that pressure and stress of trying to be where society tries to tell you that you should be.
That is exactly it, knowing that it's completly okay for you to simple Stop, Drop and Stroll. Don't conform to these pressures that lead to stresses that then lead to you just being a worn out weary object on legs. I am the first to admit that it is easier said then done. I am on the daily having to remind myself that I am my own person, living my own life and going at my own pace. It's a daily (at times hourly) reminder.
I think most of us have to adjust the way we think and be accepting of our own pace. Not holding yourself up to other peoples standards and expectation but knowing you are an individual and no one else's path or experience will be like your own. It may sound so simply, but it's usually the simply things we struggle the most to implement.
It is in the implementing that I have begun to realize that being able to be okay with slowing it down requires a full perspective change. Forcing oneself to let go of comparing and instead focusing on ones own race. Don't waste your time in comparison, instead spend your time in progression. #wizword

Why look back?
Yes, we are asking and attempting to answer our own question (yep, that's completely normal)! The main reason we at The Applous feel the need to explore more into this theme, is mostly because we have all experienced the benefits of taking time to simply look back.
Whether we look back at past mistakes, victories or hurdles. There is something to always be learned, something to be remembered and something that will motivate you to keep progressing forward.
Sometimes remembering some of the past mistakes and hurdles aren't ideal for us all, but looking back can also be a realisation of what you must try to avoid in your now and future. Knowing that you have been through it and that you don't need to repeat it cause you already know what that outcome will be.
Being able to remind yourself that what you have been through wasn't for nothing but for you to grow through, and also go through. We at The Aplpous like to look back at our past knowing that "It is good to look back at your past but NOT to set up camp in your past." #wizword

Part #3
The difference between looking back versus staying back...
Here at The Applous we are always keen for a good look back, but one thing we make sure not to do is to stay back and forget to progress forward. Yes, we all know that staying in the past can be comfortable and for some can be even a sense of peace. But in reality we are created to progress forward.
At times stepping back can be a good way to reconfigure what it is you are working so hard to achieve and why you won't stop till you make it to that finish line. Adversaries surely come and for some of us our past can sometimes haunt us and remind us of our continual failures.
One thing we all here at The Applous can attest to is that your past is good to look at but not stay in. Never allowing your past failures to hold you back from your future victories and successes. Look back but be sure to let go. Mistakes are lesson learned, and can be used as reminders of what to avoid.
Sit back, look back and let yourself roll on forward. Never allowing yourself to stay in what has been and what you have done. As we at The Applous like to say "Let your past mistakes be fuel for your future successes!" #wizword
